First Day
Oh yeah. I should probably tell you a little about me. My name's Adam and I go to a small liberal arts college in Illinois, possibly majoring in computer science. I'm in 2 bands (hopefully 3 next year) and I'm taking trumpet lessons so I'll get in the good jazz band next year (I love music, if you couldn't tell already). Those are the basic facts. On to the stupidity!
So today me and Sean (my roommate) were walking back from dinner (meatloaf for the 3rd time in as many days) and talking about stupid stuff, and this girl comes down the path towards us, when sean says, "Possibly. But if your entire body was made of sugar, you could be allergic to water and still live." She gives us the weirdest look I have ever seen. It was a combination of "I wonder what they're talking about?" and "Must. Stay. Away. From. Psychopaths." Played trumpet for at least 2 hours today, my chops are going to be really tired after lessons tomorrow. So yesterday, this song by Hendrix comes on iTunes that I hadn't heard in forever. I must have listened to that song 10 times in the past 2 days. Jimi Hendrix -- And the Wind Cries Mary.
After all the jacks are in their boxes
And the clowns have all gone to bed
You can hear happiness staggering on down the street
Footprints dressed in red
And the wind whispers Mary
A broom is drearily sweeping
Up the broken pieces of yesterday's life
Somewhere, a Queen is weeping
Somewhere a King has no wife
And the wind, it cries Mary
The traffic lights, they turn blue tomorrow
And shine their emptiness down on my bed
The tiny island sags downstream
Cuz the life that lived is dead
And the wind screams Mary
Will the wind ever remember
The names it has blown in the past
And with this crutch, its old age, and its wisdom
It whispers no, this will be the last
And the wind cries Mary
I'll try not to do song lyrics very often, everyone seems to do that. But this was so good I had to. I couldn't help it. Don't get mad at me for it. Hey what are you...POINT THAT AT SOMEONE ELSE!
